Wedding dress, 54 years old, first worn by my mother and 28 years later I wore it. What can I do with it?

My wedding dress was 28 years old when I wore it; my mom wore it first in 1954 and did an amazing job preserving it. It came out of storage in 1982 for my wedding in excellent condition; my wedding coordinator told us that the dress would probably have a price tag of $7,000 in 1982's market because of all of the silk used in it. I still have it, preserved, but I have no children and my nieces I am quite certain will wear their mothers dress or of course purchase a new dress.

Anybody have any ideas what I can do with it that would allow it or a piece of it to go to each of my siblings and their children?

Sell it on eBay.

Don't be embarrassed to mention your stored wedding gown to the younger members of your family; they may be delighted to save some money and to carry on a family tradition.

Another popular choice involves altering wedding gowns, so that they can be used as other dresses or items of clothing. This is a particularly good idea if you have chosen one of the two-piece wedding gowns that are currently very popular.
