What is the etiquette on wearing white to a wedding?

my moms cousin is getting married next weekend and i was going to wear a dress that i already have but i realized today that the dress is white and it may be considered rude to wear white to a wedding? do you think this dress is okay? im only 15 its not like im a friend of the bride or anything...

my plan was to wear it with a black sweater, black shoes and a black bag for anyone who was wondering.

When I married this past May, one of my friends (she made my veil the day of my wedding) wore a white dress with black print. Did I notice that someone else wore white except me...NO! I too was a bride that wouldn´t have cared if someone showed up in a Gorilla suit-I was too happy to notice. Now afterwards, while watching videos, I might have objected, but the point is, no one looks better, or shines more than the bride.

I do like the idea of a sweater, shoes, and purse with this dress, but why not go with something other than just black, i.e. red shoes? This way, you´ll have something colorful to wear! Think about it, and try something like this with this darling dress.
