Your experiences with a custom-made wedding dress maker on ebay?

My daughter is getting married and she is considering the possibility of getting a dress custom-made by someone through ebay. It seems quite a bit less expensive. However, most of these dressmakers are not in our country (USA.) Has anyone had an experience with any of these-good or bad-they are willing to share? I don't entirely trust ebay's 'feedback' system so I'd like some 'real people' experiences. Thanks!

Yes, I bought a dress on eBay and the seller was in China, so what I did was that I ordered a dress (custom made) almost 2 sizes too big, because I wanted to wait until a few weeks before the wedding to alter it to my size. The dress I chose is stunning and I paid a total of $200 including shipping from China and when searched for the same dress at other stores online I found a few extremely similar that were almost a $1,000. I am very very happy with my dress. My reasoning was that if for some reason the dress wouldn't look good on me I could always buy another and I wouldn't have lost that much money, since a wedding gown at a store cost a fortune. So if I would do it all again, I would in a heartbeat. The key is to find a tailor you trust around where you live, or you can go to a bridal store and pay their tailor for fitting it properly.
