Bridesmaid dress as wedding dress?

My fiancee and I are having an informal wedding, so I don't want to wear a traditional wedding dress. I've found some bridesmaids dresses that I like in white, but when I go into the store to check them out, should I let the sales person know that I would be using it as a wedding dress? I'm afraid that she/he wouldn't allow me to buy a bridesmaids dress for a wedding rather than purchasing one of their bridal gowns.

I have worked for a wedding store as a wedding consultant "David's Bridal. A lot of brides who have informal weddings always came to the store to buy bridesmaids dress and used them as a wedding gown. As long as the sales person is getting a sale out of it, it doesn't matter.And its really not up to to the sales person, its really your decision and your wedding. When you go in there just let them know that you purchasing a bridesmaids dress as your gown. They might even help you find some informal wedding gowns. I know Davids Bridal has a lot of them that are really cheap too!!! Good Luck!
